Steve Bruce confirms outgoing transfer at Newcastle United and reveals fresh injury

The midfielder is set to rejoin Rotherham United on a permanent deal after being left out of Steve Bruce’s squad for last night’s Carabao Cup win over Newport County.
Barlaser – who helped the club win promotion to the Championship last season during a season-long loan at the New York Stadium – had played in the club’s previous two cup ties. Bruce, however, has now made a decision on the 23-year-old, who has a year left on his contract at St James’s Park.

Meanwhile, defender DeAndre Yedlin, also tipped for a move away before the October 5 transfer deadline, missed the Newport game with an injury. Bruce said: “Yedlin picked up a knock.”
