Steve Bruce gives Callum Wilson injury update at Newcastle United
Callum Wilson could be back for Newcastle United’s next game.
The striker sat out yesterday’s Premier League home fixture against Chelsea with a hamstring problem – and he was badly missed.
Newcastle had a handful of opportunities in their 2-0 defeat to Frank Lampard’s side – but didn’t test Edouard Mendy in goal. And Steve Bruce, United’s head coach, hopes to have six-goal Wilson back for Friday night’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

"We’ve got two or three getting back to help us in that situation, Callum being one of them. I couldn’t risk him because of the threat of a hamstring and him missing the next six weeks. We’ve erred on caution. We hope that he’s going to be OK for next week.”
