Steve Bruce gives injury update on Dwight Gayle and Paul Dummett
Dwight Gayle and Paul Dummett are facing spells on the sidelines.
The pair were injured in Newcastle United’s 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux this afternoon.
Dummett – who was making his return from a groin injury was forced off with a hamstring problem early in the game. Gayle, handed a rare Premier League start, pulled up with a groin injury before the half-hour mark.
Head coach Steve Bruce’s injured list has run to double figures.
Bruce told BBC Radio Newcastle: “Dummett’s done his other leg – the hamstring. Gayle, we think is a groin injury. We’ll see how he is. It’s really frustrating for all of us. He (Gayle) was terrific (before going off injured). He was out for two and a half months from July (with a calf problem), so we’ve been constantly trying to get him fit.”
