Steve Bruce has lost his only fit striker to injury.
Joelinton limped out of tonight’s FA Cup tie against Oxford United after putting Newcastle United 2-0 up at the Kassam Stadium.
The 23-year-old tried to play on after treatment earlier in the half, but was forced off in the 36th minute.
Joeltinon doubled Newcastle’s advantage with a well-taken goal after Sean Longstaff, also on target, played a ball over the top.
The strike takes the £40million signing’s goal tally to three.
