Steve Bruce: Newcastle United takeover delay 'getting tedious'

The Premier League has been considering the £300million deal, 80% funded by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, since April amid objections over TV piracy and the kingdom’s record on human rights – and there's an impatience on Tyneside for a conclusion.

Bruce, speaking ahead of this evening’s FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester City at St James’s Park, shares the frustration felt by supporters.

“Like all of us, we’re still waiting,” said United’s head coach. “I think all of us feel this decision has to be made. It just seems to have become tedious. It's been going to be this week, it's going to be due in days, it's going to be in 48 hours.

“We need the people who are making the decisions to make that decision. We need them to make it – and be quick about it."
