Steve Bruce reacts as Andy Carroll and Javier Manquillo sign new deals plus Newcastle United loan trio extend spells
Manquillo has signed a four-year deal, with Carroll penning a one-year extension.
Steve Bruce has welcomed the news with loan trio Nabil Bentaleb (Schalke 04), Valentino Lazaro (Inter Milan) and Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur) also agreeing to extend their loan deals until the end of the season.
Udinese-target Matty Longstaff’s long-term future remains up in the air but he will remain on Tyneside until at least the end of this campaign after agreeing a short-term extension.
Lazaro and Inter Milan have agreed in principle to extend his loan, the paperwork set to be signed in the coming days.
Steve Bruce said: "I'm really pleased that we have been able to put these extensions in place and I'd like to thank the players for committing themselves to the club with some very important games left to play.
"We have been proactive in trying to reach these agreements and they will give us the best chance of finishing the season as strongly as possible.
"I'm delighted Javier Manquillo and Andy Carroll have extended their contracts longer term.
"They have both made important contributions this season and I'm really pleased we can continue to call on them beyond the summer."
Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that Rob Elliot, Jack Colback and Jamie Sterry will leave the club this month.
Also departing at the end of the month will be Luke Charman, Víctor Fernández, Liam Gibson and Nathan Harker.
Bruce added: "Many of the players leaving us have been with the club for a long time and, both personally and on behalf of the club, I'd like to thank them.
"I'm sure supporters will join me in appreciating their efforts over the years and we wish them the very best with the next steps in their careers."
Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Aston Villa on Wednesday evening and host Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter final on Sunday.
