Ciaran Clark is facing a spell on the sidelines – after suffering a “nasty” injury.
The Newcastle United defender was forced off with an ankle injury in last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
And head coach Steve Bruce isn’t yet sure how long he will be without Clark, who this week saw a specialist.
“It’s a nasty one, that’s for sure,” said Bruce. “We’re not too sure how long.
“He’s in a boot. He badly twisted his ankle.”
