Steve Bruce reacts to Valentino Lazaro's brilliant performance for Newcastle United
Steve Bruce has reacted to Valentino Lazaro’s best game yet for Newcastle United.
The loan signing, dismissed on his last appearance for the club, scored in last night's 3-2 FA Cup win over West Bromwich Albion. Bruce had fielded the 23-year-old winger in a more natural position on the right side of his attack, having previously used him as a wing-back.
“I thought Tino gave us a nice balance on the right-hand side,” said United's head coach. “I thought his movement and touch was good.”
Newcastle had led 3-0, by West Brom got themselves back into the game, and Bruce’s team had to come through a nervous finale.
