Steve Bruce is ready to make changes to his Newcastle United starting XI against Manchester City – after the Premier League restart finally caught up with his squad.
Bruce’s squad played five games in a 15-day period after the Premier League’s resumption following a three-month suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And United’s head coach has admitted that Allan Saint-Maximin – who has started every game since the restart – is “struggling” along with Miguel Almiron, the club’s leading goalscorer.

Valentino Lazaro has been frustrated by his lack of game time at Newcastle since making the loan switch from Inter Milan in January, while fitness has held back Danny Rose and particularly Nabil Bentaleb.
