Steve Bruce reveals 'awful decision' he must make ahead of Newcastle United's Premier League return

Steve Bruce has revealed the ‘awful decision’ he must make ahead of Newcastle United’s Premier League return at Sheffield United this evening.

Usual No1 Martin Dubravka, having missed the full season up to Saturday, made an assured, calming return to action in the FA Cup against Arsenal.

Previous to that Karl Darlow has won praise for his performances in the Premier League, with some fans even calling for the stand-in to be considered for an England call.

Bruce now, must make a call. Does he stick with Darlow in the league, or leave Dubravka with the shirt?

He said: “I’m delighted with the goalkeeping situation we’ve got. We have two quality goalkeepers. Martin, again, has reminded us what a good goalkeeper he is, and Karl has been very good all season.

"So I’ve got one of them awful ones (decisions) – let’s hope I pick the right one."

United’s game against the Blades is a 6pm kick-off.
