Bruce was without a clutch of injured defenders at the Amex Stadium last night, and fielded Emil Krafth and Danny Rose out of position in central defence.
Krafth had to play on after suffering an ankle problem during the game, and the right-back will now be assessed ahead of Sunday’s final game of the season agaist Liverpool at St James’s Park.

Bruce has lost captain Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Fabian Schar and Florian Lejeune to injuries, while Paul Dummett was left out of the club’s 25-man Premier League squad in January after suffering a hamstring injury and is not eligible to play.
