Steve Bruce's 'clever thinking' and some Rose, Lazaro & Bentaleb SHOCK – Newcastle United fans react to the manager's West Ham selections
Steve Bruce has made TWO changes to his starting XI for the visit of West Ham United today – and it’s fair to say the calls have split the Newcastle United fanbase.
While some believe the Javier Manquillo call on the left is a masterstroke, others believe Bruce is making mistakes in not selecting loan men Nabil Bentaleb, Danny Rose and Valentino Lazaro.
@ToonGenie – “Good move by Bruce to play Manquillo at LB. He's up against Bowen whose a left footed right winger who always comes inside to shoot.. Clever thinking.”
@AngelNUFC – “Happy with the team, it's very attacking but I would have liked Lazaro to start. I wonder what Muto did to make Bruce so mad that he can't even get on the bench.”
@Kevin_Nichol – “Got to say that #nufc now have some decent options from the bench. Carroll, Lazaro, Ritchie, Bentaleb, Rose...no longer do I shudder at the thought of Atsu or Muto playing PL football. We look like a decent squad right now.”
@JamesFernienufc – “#NUFC Happy with the line up but surprised about Rose and Bentaleb not starting but apart from that it’s a decent line up.”
@NUFCblogcouk – “Lazaro is a very talented player IMO & could be a great signing at £20m, but we're going to blow our chances of signing him here. Class at WBA & scores...doesn't get starts. Class at Bournemouth & scores...doesn't get a start. Why?! 🤷🏼♂️”
@Clinton_Forde – “BIG Joe and Dwight Gayle on the pitch at the SAME TIME? We MUST mean business today!!! #HWTL #NUFC ⚫️⚪️”
