That’s the view of Steve Bruce ahead of his team’s visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho was reportedly interested in Callum Wilson this summer before he joined Newcastle from Bournemouth in a £15million deal. The striker got off the mark on his debut against West Ham United earlier this month, and Bruce is backing the 28-year-old to take chances in tight games.

"That's the reason why we brought him here,” said United’s head coach. “He's done fantastically well, and was linked with Spurs, as we know.

"We hope that if he can take a chance or two, then great, but his all-round performance at West Ham, in particular, was excellent with the way he led the line for us, so let's hope there's more to come, and if he gets that big chance, then let's hope he can take it.”
