Dubravka has been sidelined since the summer, when he suffered an heel injury which needed surgery.

“That’s always the best part,” said Bruce, speaking ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League home game against West Bromwich Albion. “It’s a difficult decision. Certainly, Karl Darlow has waited patiently for his chance, and been outstanding. We think, we hope, that Martin’s a couple of weeks away. That gives me one of those big decisions, but you’d rather have it that way than not at all. The competition between them is only a good thing for a manager.

"The competition between those two in particular is very, very good. In that particular department, we’re very strong.”
