9. Samuel Umtiti
The Barcelona defender has reportedly been ‘offered’ to Newcastle this month. Injury problems may deter the Magpies from making a move for the Frenchman, however, if Umtiti can show his qualities at St James’s Park, then it could be a very good move for all parties.

10. Mauro Icardi
This would certainly be an audacious bid, however, Icardi is getting little regular game time at PSG and seemingly is not involved in any future plans in the French capital. Moves abroad have been touted, with Newcastle mentioned as a potential destination. The Argentine would likely see a relegation-threatened Newcastle as a last resort permanent transfer, but on a short-term loan deal? You never know.

11. Dele Alli
Alli’s career at Spurs has stalled recently and the England midfielder will want to play regular first-team football to try and rejuvenate his career. St James’s Park could be the place that happens this season.
