Debate among supporters on social media has been centred around a number of key issues, not least the Magpies’ form on the field which has seen the gap between them and the relegation zone sliced in recent weeks.

That has naturally led to question marks over the future of manager Steve Bruce, while the arrival of coach Graeme Jones – who sparked an early uplift in performances – has also created an intriguing dynamic.

And perhaps the subject that has most fans talking is the ongoing uncertainty over the takeover of the club.

Mike Ashley remains keen to sell to the PCP Capital Partners-led consortium, and all his focus is on forcing a deal over the line in the coming months.

Various legal avenues are being explored after the deal was withdrawn last year – with hopes high on the buying side that a positive conclusion can be reached.

But many supporters have grown weary of the ongoing takeover talks, with the club’s future shrouded in uncertainty for a number of years.

And with all that in mind, we want to know what YOU think of the current goings-on at St James’s Park.

Is Steve Bruce the right man for the job? What’s a realistic finish for the club this season? And do you think this takeover will eventually be done?
