Controversial former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has spoken out about the Saudi-funded PIF takeover of Newcastle United – and Magpies fans will LOVE it.

Speaking on regular slot on Qatar-based BeIN SPORTS, Keys said he has doubts the Amanda Staveley-fronted £300million buyout would go through, after admitting he hopes it doesn’t.

“I wish it wasn't Newcastle United who the Saudis want to buy,” said Keys.

“But, we have been talking a lot lately about morality and resetting the button. We can expect football to be better when we return – not so.

“The reason I have difficulty with this, should it go through - and I am still not sure it will. We at BeIN Sports have been fighting with Saudi Arabia because they have been broadcasting our channels illegally. It has cost this company millions.”

The takeover bid is currently with the Premier League, who are conducting their owners and directors test.
