The Magpies have SIX players out-of-contract and THREE loan players, whose futures all remain up in the air.
Most player contracts end in June, but what happens if the season goes on beyond that? Could they play? Would they sign short-term deals? Would longer extensions be on the table?
Here we take a look at the contractual situation of NINE United players, who will have question marks over their heads, should the Premier League be able to start up again.
Whether it does, or we simply wipe the slate clean and start again in September remains very much up for date, in this ever-changing, global coronavirus pandemic.
Here’s details of all NINE of Newcastle’s uncertain players – and one or two of them are key men.

5. Andy Carroll - out of contract this summer
The Geordie centre forward did not play enough games to trigger an automatic second year back on Tyneside, but, should he prove his fitness, the homecoming might not be over yet. Whether Carroll gets another season at United is up for debate, but should he be needed this summer something shorter term would definitely work for all parties. Again, I must stress, as always with Carroll, this is injury status dependent. | Getty Images Photo: Ian MacNicol

6. Jack Colback - out of contract this summer
It's finally game over for Colback at Newcastle. His big wages and distinct lack of appearances has been an embarrassment for club and player in recent years. A player who always gave his all in black and white but there will be few tears shed at his exit - unless the summer contract situation becomes a legal minefield and somehow, the door is opened for Colback again? | Getty Images Photo: Alex Livesey

7. Valentino Lazaro - Inter Milan loan deal ends in summer
OK. That's about a fair summary of the Austrian's time on Tyneside. You wouldn't be paying £20million for him, that's for sure. I'm sure Inter would have little need to take him back in June/July, so United could probably crack on with a short extension. But he'd need to a lot more impress in my eyes for any permanent deal to be struck. | Getty Images Photo: Stu Forster

8. Nathan Harker - out of contract this summer
The goalkeeper is another who is out the Premier League 25, and isn't close to consideration, even for the under-23s. He's been told to find a new club and was most recently on trial at rivals Sunderland. | Getty Images Photo: Nick Taylor/Liverpool FC
