Just two goals in 26 Newcastle United appearances tells its own tale when looking at the start Joelinton has made to life on Tyneside.
Chances have been hard to come by but the perception is that the big Brazilian, signed for a club record £40million from the Bundesliga in the summer, is doing little to help himself.
Well, maybe goals does not tell the whole story as this surprising statistic proves.
When it comes to aerial duals – far from the 23-year-old's strong suit – only one player – West Ham's summer signing Sebastian Haller (159) has won more headers than Joelinton (127) this season in the Premier League.
Top five Premier League players (aerial duals won): Sebastian Haller (West Ham United), 159; Joelinton (Newcastle United), 127; James Tarkowski (Leicester City), 115; Ollie McBurnie (Sheffield United), 109; Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), 107.
