Tottenham Hotspur contract complications may mean Newcastle United wait to appoint reported top managerial target Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine remains on ‘gardening leave’ at the London Stadium and should he leave for another club before the end May, Spurs will be due compensation for their former manager.

But, according to the Telegraph, if he leaves after May, Spurs will not be due a payout.

Pochettino and Rafa Benitez are the bookmakers’ favourites to take over from Steve Bruce at the end of 2019/20.
