

Newcastle United's woeful position in the Premier League possession table - compared to West Ham and Wolves
Under Steve Bruce, Magpies fans have become used to seeing their side averaging low possession, which became increasingly noticeable during the club’s 11-match winless streak this term.
However in recent weeks, just as assistant coach Graeme Jones arrived, Newcastle seem to be playing more of the frontfoot as they aim to steer away from the relegation picture.

United’s position is woeful – but also not surprising given how the season has panned out so far:

1. 1st - Manchester City - 64%

2. 2nd - Liverpool - 62.4%
While possession is still high for Liverpool, they’ve been struggling for goals of late with just eight in nine games - very unlike Jurgen Klopp’s side. Photo: SHAUN BOTTERILL

3. 3rd - Chelsea 59.9%

4. 4th - Leeds United - 59.8%
