TV boost for Newcastle United fans after FA Cup selection

Newcastle United’s FA Cup tie against Manchester City will be shown on free-to-air TV.

The quarter-final was postponed in March following the suspension of football due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s planned to play the tie behind closed doors on the weekend of June 27 and 28.

And the game, which had originally been due to be shown by BT Sport, will be screened by the BBC.

The semi-finals are pencilled in for the weekend of July 18 and 19.
