5. Steve McClaren - 22.6%
McClaren was backed by a sizable transfer budget during his first summer, bringing in the likes of Gini Wijnaldum and Aleksandar Mitrovic before Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend were added in January. McClaren could only steer Newcastle towards the relegation trap door and left the club second from bottom in the table. Photo: Stu Forster

6. Steve Bruce - 29.9%
Bruce took over from the popular Rafa Benitez at St James’ Park and was tasked with keeping the club in the Premier League. Fans became used to seeing poor football and results as the club lurched from relegation battle to relegation battle. Photo: Stu Forster

7. Kevin Keegan (2008) - 31.9%
Keegan enjoyed a hero's return to Newcastle in 2008 and helped guide the team away from relegation danger. He lasted less than nine months in the role, however. Photo: Clive Rose

8. Sam Allardyce - 33.3%
Allardyce was chosen by Mike Ashley following his success at Bolton Wanderers, who he helped guide from the Championship into Europe. His time at St James’ Park was not a memorable one. Photo: PAUL ELLIS
