Eddie Howe’s side have registered back-to-back wins in the Premier League after following up Wednesday night’s win over Everton with a superb victory at Tottenham Hotspur.
Earned by goals from Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron, that win on Sunday moved the Magpies into 4th place in the league with 21 points from 12 games so far this season.
Newcastle are enjoying a superb run of form at the moment and have taken 14 points from a possible 18 - but where does that rank them alongside their Premier League rivals?
Here, we take a look at what the Premier League table looks like based on the last six fixtures to see where Newcastle United rank among the top-flight’s ‘in form’ teams.

17. Arsenal (4th) - 13 points (+5 GD)
Mikel Arteta’s side are the early pace setters, although dropped points at the weekend and a defeat to Manchester United have just curtailed some of their momentum. Photo: Bryn Lennon

18. Manchester City (3rd) - 13 points (+11 GD)
The reigning champions looked almost unstoppable this season before they travelled to Anfield last weekend. They followed that defeat against Liverpool with a good win against Brighton on Saturday. Photo: OLI SCARFF

19. Chelsea (2nd) - 14 points (+7 GD)
Chelsea are unbeaten under Graham Potter, winning four and drawing two of their last six league games. They could easily have had another win had it not been for Casemiro’s late equaliser on Saturday night. Photo: Alex Pantling

20. Newcastle United (1st) - 14 points (+9 GD)
Newcastle’s last six games have seen them defeat Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Brentford and Fulham whilst also earning a creditable draw away at Old Trafford. Their home draw with Bournemouth is their only disappointing result from their last six as Eddie Howe’s side make a genuine attempt for European football. Photo: Julian Finney
