Yoshinori Muto leaves Newcastle United on loan
The forward, signed from Mainz two years ago, today completed his temporary switch to the La Liga side.
Muto – who has made 28 appearances for Newcastle and scored two goals for the club – will spend the season at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium. The 28-year-old had travelled to Spain on Monday to complete the formalities of the deal, having been told he was not in Steve Bruce’s plans for the coming seaosn.
Speaking after last night’s 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Blackburn Rovers, head coach Bruce said: “I believe Muto’s travelled to Spain with the view of a loan deal. We hope he can compete that and get some football.”
Defender Florian Lejeune last week joined Alaves, and Bruce is keen to move more players out of the club before the October 5 transfer deadline.
