Nolan and Bell goals edge Boldon CA to victory

Boldon CA enjoyed a cracking 2-1 win over Hartlepool and with the victory, remain fifth in the TWR Bi Folds Wearside League.

Boldon deservedly took the lead in the 38th minute after Daniel Nolan neatly finished following some good build up play from Dominic Mossa and Adam Bell.

It was 2-0 after 50 minutes, when Bell scored following good work again by Mossa down the right flank.

However, Hartlepool reduced the deficit when Luke Naylor scored with a penalty 10 minutes from time.

Hartlepool put Boldon under pressure as they searched for an equaliser, but CA held their nerve and lead to secure the three points.

Elsewhere in the league, the local derby between South Shields Reserves and Jarrow saw runaway leaders stopped in their tracks, as the Reserves claimed a narrow 1-0 home win.

The all-important goal came just before the half hour mark, when Ryan Bolam’s corner found the net after goalkeeper Gary Frater misjudged his cross.
