Burton Albion set to rival Sunderland for Scotland international winger

But Burton Abion are also keen on the two-time Scotland cap, with manager Nigel Clough admitting he had asked about Murphy’s availability this month.

Hide AdHowever, the Brewers’ chief believes that finances could prove a stumbling block.
“There has been an inquiry,” Clough confirmed, speaking to Burton Live.
“We know his representative quite well, he looks after a couple of other lads at our place, so that’s how it’s come about.
“But he’s on quite a bit of money at Rangers, so I’m not sure whether there will be anything happening. You never know. It would be a difficult one.”
