Maguire was a key part of the side that knocked the Magpies out the FA Cup in 2017, as League One Oxford won 3-0 at the Kassam Stadium in a fourth round tie.

He played 70 minutes before being replaced by Toni Martinez and, while he didn’t contribute a goal or an assist during the triumph, Maguire’s memory of beating Newcastle United is clearly a happy one – and that’s sure to delight Sunderland fans.
