Defender opens up about his Sunderland future
January can often bring speculation as to whether loan deals will be prematurely ended – but Dion Sanderson says he has no plans to return to parent club Wolves.
The 21-year-old has started for the last three games for Sunderland after a frustrating start to life on Wearside, which saw him in and out the side prior to the arrival of Lee Johnson.
But with the new head coach placing a great deal of faith in the loanee, Sanderson is happy to stay at Sunderland - as he continues to build towards his goal of playing top flight football for Wolves.
"Yeah,” replied Sanderson, when asked if he was happy to remain at the Stadium of Light.
"I'm playing now and getting experience which is what I need - to get as much experience as I can.
"Hopefully I can achieve my goal of playing in the Premier League for my home club.”
