Steve Bruce is reportedly keen to move the ex-Cats midfielder on Ki Sung-yueng today – with the former Celtic man’s wage reportedly somewhere in the region of £60,000-a-week.

The South Korean has featured just four times this season, most recently in the disappointing 1-1 draw with Rochdale in the FA Cup and looks likely to leave during deadline day, according to reports.

But with just hours left until the transfer deadline, Ki’s options look to be narrowing, with Celtic and Swansea both priced out of a move given his high wages, making a loan move the most likely option.

Whilst with rivals Sunderland, Ki helped the Black Cats to the League Cup final in 2014. His bumper contract, signed in 2018 after a move from Swansea, has six-months left to run before it expires in the summer.
