Sam Parkin has heaped praise on Lee Johnson’s Sunderland and Aiden McGeady after the Black Cats defeated Bristol Rovers.

“I’ve been really impressed with Lee Johnson at Sunderland,” Parkin said. “Especially the upturn of form in certain individuals such as McGeady who got yet another assist today.

"That’s Aiden O’Brien’s best performance today capped by a goal from another set-piece goal.

“Through the core of the team they look good too with signings of Dion Sanderson and Jordan Jones, good job so far for Lee Johnson.”

Former Sunderland defender Micky Gray has shared a joke with a Newcastle United supporter

The situation at the top of the table prompted Gray to remark that Sunderland had ‘10 cup finals’ left to play in League One.
