With a host of potential new recruits in action across the weekend, we take a look at how they all performed on another busy weekend in the Premier League and EFL.
Scroll down and click through the pages to see how Bailey Wright, Billy Sharp and others fared – as they continued to be linked with Sunderland:
1. ANTOINE SEMENYO (BRISTOL CITY)
Semenyo - who is one of the attacking players on Sunderland's radar this month - was an unused substitute as Bristol City beat Barnsley 1-0. Photo: Nathan Stirk
2. BAILEY WRIGHT (BRISTOL CITY)
Reports in the South West suggest that Wright is edging closer to a move to the Stadium of Light, and he wasn’t included in the Robins’ squad for their clash with Barnsley. Could that hint a move is near? Photo: Buda Mendes
3. OLLIE RATHBONE (ROCHDALE)
Dale travelled to league leaders Wycombe in League One, but were without Rathbone after he sustained an injury early in the month. Sunderland, Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers were all rumoured to be keen on the midfielder, but his omission has nothing to do with the transfer speculation. Photo: Clive Brunskill
4. GREG DOCHERTY (RANGERS)
Rangers took on Stranraer on Friday evening in the Scottish Cup, but Docherty wasn’t part of the squad. Initial talks over a move to the Stadium of Light were held last week. Photo: PAUL ELLIS
