Both players joined the club in December 2019 and went on to play key roles in helping the Hornets battle for a top three place in the Northern League’s top tier and reach the last four of the FA Vase.

Former Blyth Spartans and Gateshead keeper Foden has agreed a new one-year deal with the club after establishing himself as the Hornets’ number one during an impressive first half-season at the Energy Check Sports Ground.

Potter has penned a similar deal and will hope to continue the form that saw him become a pivotal figure in Kevin Bolam’s side since he joined Hebburn from Northern Premier League club Morpeth Town last year.

Hornets boss Bolam revealed his delight at seeing the duo commit to the club and hailed their impact since they moved to South Tyneside.

He told The Gazette: “Mark is very young for a goalkeeper and his physical attributes are fantastic.

“He has shown great mental strength and we are over the moon with him.

“We also have Liam Connell and I think they are two fantastic options.

“With Mark staying and Liam now at the club, we have two number ones that will be going hammer and tong to get that shirt next season

“Tom is a great lad, a likable lad and he brought something in the wide areas.

“He is a clever player, with two very good feet and if we want to compete, we have to have players that have played at a higher level, just as Tom has.

Hebburn have also confirmed that goalkeeper Conor Grant and forwards Ben Dibb-Fuller and Luke Sullivan have left the club after they revealed their retained list of players for the 2020/21 season.
