'We can't wait to see you when it's safe' say Little Mix as they postpone tour due to pandemic
The singers’ Confetti tour had been scheduled to take place starting in April this year following its announcement in September, but will now be staged from April 2022.
The group features South Shields own Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards alongside Leigh Anne Pinnock, while fourth member Jesy Nelson confirmed she was departing the act in December.
They had been due to play Newcastle Utilita Arena on Friday, May 7, and Saturday, May 8, this year.
Those gigs will now take place on Friday, April 15, 2022, with tickets still available for that date, and the following night, Saturday, April 16, 2022, which is sold out.
Other venues on the 24-date tour include three nights at the 02 in London, with two of those already sold out, the AO Manchester Arena and the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.
In a post on their website, Little Mix said: “You know how much we love being on the road and performing every night for you all.
“However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we must prioritise the safety of our fans and crew and help to stop the spread.
"Therefore we’re so sad to say that the Confetti tour will be postponed to April 2022.
“All tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates, see the below poster to see which new date your ticket will be valid for.
"We’re also taking this chance to add in an additional show for our fans in Cardiff.
"We can’t wait to see you when it is safe to do so.
“Lots of love, The girls x.”
The tour will see them joined by support act Since September, a group Little Mix worked to put together through the BBC One show The Search.
The group’s Confetti album was released in November and features the number one hit Sweet Melody along with singles Break Up Song and Holiday.
They have partnered up with Black Minds Matter UK and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy to donate £1 of the tour ticketing fee equally between the two organisations.
