Support our local businesses over the Great North Run weekend!
One of South Shields sea front’s favourite venues is helping the 2026 Great North Run to go with a swing, with live music both before and after the big race.
The Sand Dancer on Sea Road stages a Great North Run Eve party on Saturday, September 12 with the town’s very own Rivelino. The party band will be playing classics from Oasis, The Killers, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones and more.
Entry is free and the show takes place from 8pm in the marquee outside the pub.
From 7am on the day of the iconic half-marathon, Sunday, September 13, the Sand Dancer is open to serve breakfasts, with a DJ performing throughout the day.
The marquee is again open from 1pm until late with music from Dean Clark, Corey G, Frog on the Tyne and Bessie & the Zinc Buckets, again throughout the day.
The pub is open until 11pm every day.
