5. Folk gig, Pop Recs, Sunderland, January 11
Local Sunderland musicians Dave Murray and Keith Gregson will be performing a fundraising folk gig at the sister Pop Recs site in High Street West, Sunderland, on Saturday, January 11. Entitled The Pallion Lad and The Incomer, the gig will feature an evening of Wearside songs and will raise funds for the development of the new site. The event is seated and doors open at 7pm. 6. AC / DC tribute, Sage Gateshead, January 11

The Foundations play Customs House, South Shields, on January 17. The Foundations announced their arrival on the swinging sixties music scene with international chart toppers Build Me Up Buttercup and Baby, Now That I’ve Found You, plus a string of other hits including Back On My Feet Again, Any Old Time (You’re Lonely And Sad), In The Bad Bad Old Days (Before You Loved Me) and Born To Live, Born To Die.
