South Tyneside’s Christmas countdown is officially on, with a calendar of events set to spread Christmas cheer throughout the borough.
From light switch-ons and festive fairs to pantos and parades, you’ll soon be feeling merry and bright.
Now, pass the mince pies.
1. South Shields Christmas Lights switch on
Guest performers including 90s pop group East 17 will switch on the lights in South Shields town centre on Thursday, November 21. Outside The Word in Market Place, there will also be music from local performers including the talented Choirmaster group, an appearance by The Customs House's panto stars and street entertainers. 2. Jarrow Christmas lights switch-on
The Christmas lights will be switched on outside the Town Hall on Friday, November 22 at 4pm, with street entertainment and festive music from St Bede's RC Primary. Photo: Stu Norton
3. Hebburn Christmas lights switch-on
