I am a search and trends specialist for The Yorkshire Post, covering everything from travel and weather to TV and film. From human interest to politics. Always on the hunt for engaging and trending topics for interesting stories.
With over ten years in journalism, my first job was at a print newspaper in Cumbria, The Egremont 2Day. After working my way through my journalism qualifications, including a master's degree in journalism, I progressed to editor of the newspaper and helped grow its online and social media presence between 2014 and 2018.
In 2018 I moved to Manchester to take on the role of journalist for LADbible. During this time I wrote hundreds of articles - many that trended - and covered everything from hard-hitting breaking news to celebrity pieces.
Following my role here I gathered experience in the communications, market and press relations industry working for GLL, which aided to my wide range of skills, before moving back to journalism by launching my own publication in 2020.
This publication aided in providing free news to people in Cumbria and the northwest throughout the pandemic and beyond and also supported businesses struggling to find a presence online.
Throughout 2022 and into 2023 I worked as the senior content editor for GRV Media Ltd, helping them launch a student-centred news site and also contributed hundreds of articles and features to its sister sites, HITC, Reality Tidbit and The Focus.
Outside of the world of work, I enjoy fitness and running, having completed several marathons, half-marathons and 10k’s, often for charities such as Mind, British Heart Foundation and Macmillian. Due to being coeliac I’ve developed a love of gluten free baking and I’m an avid Taylor Swift fan, I even have every record since her debut era.
