Customers praise 'first class' Indian fusion restaurant as it opens in former South Shields pub
and live on Freeview channel 276
Mumbai Emperor has opened in the town’s Stanhope Road, taking on the site of the former Stanhope Hotel and Tavistock Italian Retro.
The creation of businessman Syed Khalid Miah, the restaurant follows the success of Goa and Mumbai Silk in Sunderland – and it’s already proving a hit with diners.

Hide AdCustomers have pledged to return after “beautiful” meals already, while others have welcomed the opening of a new business in the town.
Specialising in Indian fusion cuisine, the restaurant also features an extensive cocktail menu, a happy hour special and an extensive choice of dishes.
Sixteen full and part-time jobs have been created by the opening.
