Nursery youngsters learn Remembrance Day lesson
Youngsters at a nursery in South Tyneside got a lesson in history as they got involved in the recent Remembrance Day events.
The children at the Nurserytime nursery were taken to the annual Armistice Day service at the Merchant Navy Memorial at the Mill Dam, South Shields, on Tuesday.

Helen Coulson, manager at the nursery in Beach Road, South Shields, said events and activities were organised to make sure the children understood the meaning of the events which took place over the Remembrance weekend.
The youngsters watched the service and ceremony and observed the two minute silence.
On the way back to the nursery, laid their own handcrafted wreaths at the war memorial at St Hilda's Church.
Ms Coulson said: “We felt it was very important that the children understood the significance of the Remembrance Day and Armistice Day events taking place over the weekend and their meaning.
“They all took part in the two minute silence and were very respectful of the occasion.
"We are very proud of each and every one of them." She added: “On our way back to nursery, we laid of our very own handcrafted wreaths at the war memorial at St Hilda's Church.
"They fully understood that this was in memory of those who lost their lives in conflict on behalf of the country. "Here at Nurserytime we believe that these real life experiences really solidify all we have learnt within nursery.
