South Tyneside taxi firm posts heartwarming thanks to key workers during the coronavirus lockdown

A taxi firm has posted a heartwarming video thanking key workers.

Richmond Taxis, based in South Tyneside has posted a video of one of their driver’s daughters thanking NHS staff and other key workers for their efforts during the lockdown.The video posted on their Facebook page shows Ella-May and Charlotte who are the daughters of Michael Garrick, one of their drivers holding up signs, thanking key workers.

The company wanted to show their appreciation to the girls for taking the time to create the clip.

Steven Pippin, 43 is the office manager, he said: “We wanted to give some recognition to Michael’s daughters for making the video.

“As well as that, it is a really good way for us to thank all the key workers who are doing their best in these difficult times.”

Besides showing their thanks, Steven believes that it is a good way to spread a bit of cheer during the lockdown.

He added: “I hope that the video can bring some positivity to those who watch it, especially as there are so many negative comments being posted on social media.

“I think it is a nice way to show people that despite all of this, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
