The hotel on Sea Road, South Shields has recently undergone a £550,000 refurbishment after being taken over by North East firm High Street Hospitality.
The company borrowed £1.15 million for the purchase and renovation of the property, in a bid to regenerate the seafront.
It now boasts 34 fully refurbished en-suite bedrooms, including honeymoon suite, an American sports bar, cocktail bar, function room and even its traditional Maritime restaurant has been given an overhaul.
Meanwhile, the former on site fish and chip restaurant is now a modern Latin American restaurant, Loca.
Bosses say turnover has increased by more than 70% since it opened in June 2019.
