There have been some big cases over the last week or so in the North East.
These are some of the people jailed or given suspended sentences for offences and around Tyneside throughout the second half of July.
They all appeared at Newcastle Crown Court unless otherwise stated.

5. Kristofer Storrie
Kristofer Storrie was sentenced to eight months, suspended for two years, with rehabilitation requirements after police found a total of 431 pictures and one video, featuring children as young as one on his devices. | Northumbria Police

6. Gavin Train
Trainof Rothay Place, Newcastle, was arrested within hours of a stabbing and charged with murder. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, and must serve a minimum of 21 years. | Northumbria Police

7. Andrea Train and Lewis Allison
Allison, 24, of Roundhill Avenue, Blakelaw, and Andrea Train, 49, of Rothay Place, Newcastle, both pleaded guilty to charges of violent disorder in the same hearing last month. Andrea Train was sentenced to three years and four months behind bars, with half of the term to be served on licence. Allison was handed the same sentence, and ordered to serve a further six months in custody for a separate offence of breaching a community order. | Northumbria Police

8. David Stoker
David Stoker, 61 of South Shields was found guilty by a jury of indecent assault. He has been jailed for four years and must sign the sex offenders register for life. | Northumbria Police
