There have been some big cases over the last week or so in the North East.
These are some of the people jailed or given suspended sentences for offences and around Tyneside throughout the second half of July.
They all appeared at Newcastle Crown Court unless otherwise stated.

These four men have been handed life sentences and must serve a minimum combined term of 118 years behind bars following a number of chemical attacks that led to the murder of a Gateshead man. Wynne has been jailed for life with a minimum of 33 years for murder, robbery, assault causing actual bodily harm, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. Hawthorn was jailed for life with a minimum of 22 years for murder and robbery. Fawcett was jailed for life with a minimum of 32 years for murder, robbery, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. Wandless was jailed for life with a minimum of 31 years for murder, robbery, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. | Northumbria Police
