Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 19 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

9. Koda (French Bulldog)
Koda is a lovely lad. He is a friendly and outgoing boy, who is always pleased to meet people and greets everyone enthusiastically! He is full of life, he loves getting out and about on his walks, spending time with his humans and playing with his toys – his favourite seems to be balls. He’s also a typical Bulldog and can be stubborn – putting the brakes on if he’s decided he wants to go a different way on his walks. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

10. Sky (Patterdale Terrier)
Sky is a wonderful, intelligent and energetic young girl. She is a super friendly little lady – nobody is a stranger to Sky! She is still very much a puppy who will require ongoing training to ensure she develops into a confident and well-rounded adult dog. She can still display some silly puppy behaviours when over-excited and her new family will need to help her work on these. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

11. Stripes
Stripes is a lovely little lady who initially found the shelter environment slightly overwhelming. She has slowly been building her confidence and has begun to show staff her sweet nature, often now crying for attention when she knows they’re close by! Now that she is more comfortable, she will often climb onto our knee for a fuss, rubbing into us to get as much attention as possible. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

12. Hunter (Whippet Cross)
Hunter is a beautiful boy and a sensitive soul with a lot of big feelings. He has a very sweet personality and loves a cuddle with his human friends. Hunter has struggled in the shelter environment and can get very stressed in his kennel. Once out and about on a walk he is a different dog entirely. He walks well and takes in his surroundings without any drama. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
