Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 15 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

5. Bobby and Ella
Bobby and Ella are a sweet pair who took a little while to settle in at the shelter. Bobby is the more confident of the two and, now he’s found his feet, has shown the team his loving and playful side! Ella is more reserved and has been more of a shy and timid girl. She often prefers to be up high where she feels safe. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

6. Cordelia (American Bulldog)
Cordelia is a lovely young girl who found the shelter a little overwhelming when she first arrived. Now she has settled in, however, she has shown us what a sweet girl she is and how playful she can be! She can still be an anxious girl at times, she seems to be particularly worried by loud noises and can be a little unsure when meeting new people – although it doesn’t take her too long to warm up. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

7. Bo (Cane Corso)
Bo is an absolute delight to spend time with. She is a lovely girl who enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. Nothing fazes Bo, she has been perfectly behaved when getting bathed and having eye drops administered, she walks nicely on the lead (most of the time!) and takes her treats gently – she is just an all round well-mannered girl! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

8. Otto
Otto is big, handsome young lad with a big personality to match! He was found as a stray with some trauma to his hind leg, he was taken to the shelter's vets where, unfortunately, it was decided that the leg required amputation. He came to the shelter after this operation and has healed well. He found the shelter environment a little overwhelming when he first arrived, but has done well in making friends with all of the staff members who have spent time with him here. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
