Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.

9. Belle (Cane Corso)
Belle is a delightful girl who is an absolute pleasure to spend time with. She absolutely loves human company and adores being made a fuss of – she is a very friendly girl who is happy to say hello to everyone in the hopes that they might give her a stroke! She also will sometimes enjoy playing with toys – although being made a fuss of is definitely her priority! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

10. Mary (Shar Pei Cross)
Mary is a beautiful, intelligent and energetic girl! She is happy to say hello to anyone she meets and, despite finding the kennel environment quite difficult to deal with, has still remained such a good girl who is always pleased to see shelter staff and volunteers. She absolutely loves being made a fuss of and spending time with her human friends. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

11. Lanya (Old Tyme Bulldog)
Lanya is a real sweetheart and a sensitive soul who can be shy when meeting new people, but is a real love bug once she is comfortable with you! Lanya has lots of energy and loves a game of fetch with a tennis ball, she would do this all day long if you let her! She would love a home with an active family who would enjoy playing with her to help burn off some of her contagious energy! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

12. Duchess
Duchess is sweet but reserved girl who is easily startled but does like to have a little bit of a fuss on her own terms. She will tell you when she is unhappy being stroked or handled but she has never lashed out, just given us a little grumble! Duchess has lived in a quiet home previously, and wasn’t keen on visitors or children, so a quiet home would be best suited for this beautiful lady. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
