Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 19 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

5. Rez (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross)
Rez is an absolute little whirlwind of energy and has a real zest for life. He is a very small lad, weighing only around 10kg but has such a big personality! Rez will require an experienced home with lots of time and energy to dedicate to not only keeping up with him, but training him. He adores people and has to greet everyone he possibly can, but this is often done with jumping up and some real excitement. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

6. Lola (Crossbreed)
Lola is a sweet girl who initially found the shelter environment a little overwhelming. Although she has now settled, she can still be a bit of an anxious girl and doesn’t particularly enjoy spending time in her kennel – she is always desperate to be out with her human friends! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

7. Alfred (Terrier Cross)
Alfred is a very sweet little lad who was very anxious when he came into our care, and still has times where he is feeling overwhelmed. But once he has gotten over his worries about new people, he is so affectionate! Alfred loves nothing more than a fuss from his favourite people and will climb up onto their knee for a fuss as often as possible. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

8. Obsidian
Obsidian is a super sweet girl who loves her human friends. Unfortunately, however, she strongly dislikes other cats, and so that has made it difficult for her to cope at the shelter in the cattery environment. Despite the fact she finds it a stressful environment, Obsidian has still been such a lovely girl whilst in our care and is a really loving and affectionate little lady with those she knows. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
