Armed Forces Day celebration returns to South Shields for 2026 - this is what to expect
South Tyneside Council has revealed the details of this year’s Armed Forces Day celebration.
The borough will once again come together to celebrate the armed forces community later this month.
Members of the public are invited to Bents Park, on Sunday, June 21, for South Tyneside’s Armed Forces Day celebration.

The event will begin with an organised bike ride that will see around 500 bikers travel from Sunderland to South Shields, which will then be followed by the Uniformed Parade.
The parade will depart from Gypsies Green at 10.30am, led by a marching band, and make their way along Sea Road to Bents Park for a short service.
Once that has concluded, there will be plenty of activities to get involved in such as fairground rides, stalls and food and drink vendors.
The Council has confirmed there will be live music from 5 Minutes to Midnight, The Kansas City Shuffle and The Wolcott Band.
The Rock Choir will also be performing, alongside ‘The Next! Big Thing’ acts.
The event will run until 4.30pm.
