Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following an attempted robbery in a bookmakers.

On Wednesday, August 10, police say a man entered the Ladbrokes store on Westgate Road, Newcastle, armed with a crow bar, and threatened a member of staff.

He then left empty handed, with no one injured during the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to identify and speak to about the incident.

Police say he was in the bookmakers at the time of the robbery and may be able to help with enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 394 11/08/16.
